Stuck in a constant cycle of negativity? Complaining, blaming, discouraged, judgmental, insecure, bitter... all of those feelings that don't really bring you anywhere but down. Journaling is a gold standard of therapy, but are you doing the right type of journaling for your current situation? Gratitude journals focus on the positive aspects of your day. Sure, you might have had "the worst day ever," but was every moment of the day bad? Can you find even one single second where something went well or felt good? Do you think venting in your journal at day's end is going to make you feel better or worse? If your answer is worse, then you should give a gratitude journal a try. This is a simple, small journal that prompts you to respond so you don't have to overthink. If you’ve been feeling stuck in negative thoughts, comparing yourself to everyone else, or just noticing more of what’s wrong than what’s right, this is a simple place to start shifting that pattern.
Over the years in my work as an educator, therapist, and parent, I’ve come across many books, tools, and resources that support emotional well-being, personal growth, better health, and stronger relationships.
